Dies sagt der Herr: »Der Himmel ist mein Thron und die Erde der Schemel für meine Füße. Was für ein Haus müsstet ihr bauen, damit es diesem gleichkäme? Was wäre das für ein Ort, an dem ich ruhen könnte?

Dies alles haben meine Hände gemacht, durch sie ist alles entstanden«, spricht der Herr. »Ich achte auf die, die gedemütigt worden sind und einen gebrochenen Geist haben und vor meinem Wort zittern.

Wer ein Rind opfert, aber einen Menschen erschlagen hat, wer ein Lamm opfert, aber einem Hund das Genick bricht, wer ein Speiseopfer bringt, es aber mit Schweineblut tränkt, wer Räucherwerk verbrennt, aber zugleich einen Götzen verehrt, zieht es vor, seine eigenen Wege zu gehen und sich an seine abscheulichen Götzen zu hängen.

Ich werde für sie ein übles Geschick wählen - und das über sie kommen lassen, wovor ihnen graut. Denn als ich rief, antworteten sie nicht. Als ich sprach, hörten sie nicht zu. Sie taten, was in meinen Augen böse ist und erwählten, woran ich keinen Gefallen habe.«

Jesaja 66,1-4

 

 

This is what the LORD says:Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?

Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being? declares the LORD.This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.

But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pig's blood, and whoever burns memorial incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations;

so I also will choose harsh treatment for them and will bring upon them what they dread. For when I called, no-one answered, when I spoke, no-one listened. They did evil in my sight and chose what displeases me.

 

You can go your own way, but you have to take the consequences. So make your choice.

Whatever you do, do it smart and think to the end!
